The BME Community Hub, run by BME Suffolk Support Group (BSSG), is an award-winning, non-profit organisation based in Ipswich that’s been quietly holding communities together for years.
They provide practical support where it’s needed most, whether that’s guidance with housing, employment, education, or simply helping someone find their footing in a system that can feel overwhelming and impersonal. They exist to support people – particularly those who might feel marginalised or overlooked – helping individuals and families find stability, confidence, and a sense of belonging in the UK.
They go far beyond surface-level help: from advice drop-ins covering housing, benefits, employment, immigration and mental health, to youth groups, family support, and welcoming social spaces that genuinely bring people together.
Everything they do is free, accessible, and built around real human need.
There’s also the food bank running every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday (9:30am–3:30pm)
-a vital service making sure no one in Ipswich goes without.
